The Inside Wireman Apprenticeship offered at the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee, will give you a good paying job with great benefits while you are getting free technical training at the same time. 

The finest electrical workers receive their training through the National Joint Apprenticeship & Training Committee of NECA and the IBEW.  It is a model education partnership that produces the best trained and knowledgeable electrical apprentices and journeymen in the country.

    Advancement Opportunities

    As Apprentices advance through the 6 period levels of the program, the wage rate (based on percentage of the Journeyman wireman rate) increases with each period level.

    Benefits will start the first day of on-the-job training. These benefits are funded through the employer.

    Earn While You Learn

    Every other week they attend a day of school, while the other days they are working with there hands on the job. Starting pay, (no experience necessary) starts at $18.10 per hour plus benefits.

    College Credit

    Available to the graduates of the inside wireman apprenticeship. 47 college credits are issued by the American Council on Education (ACE). These credits can be transferred towards continued college education.

    Paid Health Insurance

    Medical Insurance is provided by the industry. This means you won't be seeing a deduction from your paycheck to pay for your insurance premiums. In addition to the medical coverage, there is prescription drug, dental and optical coverage as well.

Program Information

Apprenticeship is a 5 year training course. The training consists of a variety of techniques used in the electrical field.  Apprentices are in a "earn while you learn" system.  Every other week apprentices attend an 8 hour school day, while the other days they are working with their hands on the job.
